Another Hamilton hero steps up to the plate. I agree that he should be officially cited for his act of bravery
A man will be put up for a commendation after he grabbed a bank robber for Hamilton police.
The man grabbed a bandit who had just held up the TD-Canada Trust on Mall Road, in between Mohawk Road East and Lime Ridge Mall, just after 4:30 p.m. Monday. Police say the man gave chase after he saw a man holding a bag spraying a dye pack and cash in a grocery store parking lot.
"Although we don't recommend citizens put themselves at risk, the actions of the civilian were brave," said Staff Sergeant Bernie Mueller.
The 44-year-old suspect has been charged with two counts of robbery.
