LETTER: Vaping not equal to cigarette smoking

It’s not surprising governments want new regulations via Bill S-5
Hamilton Mountain News
I quit smoking tobacco cigarettes when the price got too expensive, not to mention the inherent danger in inhaling tobacco smoke as a way to deliver the nicotine content.
Now I use a vaporizer that can be filled with e-liquid, a mixture of nicotine and various natural plant glycerines, produced in a laboratory.
Hamilton has various vape shops downtown and on the Mountain; you must prove your age to buy these products.
The hardware you need to vape costs about half the price of a carton of cigarettes from the variety store.
The e-liquid is not expensive and can be purchased online and delivered by Canada Post.
Vaporizing, instead of smoking tobacco, is a great way to do less harm to your lungs and throat.
The bonus is there is no secondhand smoke to bother others or those nasty cigarette butts littering the city.
It’s not surprising governments want new regulations via Bill S-5, as they believe vaping is like smoking.
But it isn’t.
