After reading Deidre Pike's Saturday column respecting sex education, I fondly recall what I learned in the classroom back in the seventies. They had huge pictures that were anatomically correct and further explained the results of these two types of plumbing (boys and girls) coming together.
Abstinence seemed the right direction to go, as children were part of what was referred to as the "nuclear family:" a father, mother and their children, like satellites that make up the whole. Fast forward to today where the talk is all "gender identity" and not so much about plumbing and how everything works.
Those were the days.
