After reading this story I was happy and sad. Happy that a Hamilton Police Officer was able to revive this child, and sad remembering when I attempted the same life-giving exercise with my deceased son Logan when he passed away due to complications of cerebral palsy a few years ago. I hope there is a way for Hamilton Police Chief Glenn De Caire to give this Officer a great big pat-on-the-back, or a citation for his efforts. Hero's of this sort are reflective of the caring members of the Hamilton Police Service and should be recognized publicly. Simply inspirational.
Hamilton police officer Mason Murphy gave CPR to the one and a half year old at a home on Peachwood Crescent just after 3 p.m., police said.
He revived the girl before ambulance crews arrived.
“He basically breathed life back into her,” said Acting Staff Sergeant Chris Wills.
